Milena Contreras, a visual artist from Medellín, Colombia, has participated in various group and solo exhibitions, such as Strange Bodies Strange at the Paul Badwell Gallery and Future Archive at the Museum of Antioquia. She was the winner of the New Talents in Art award by the Medellín Chamber of Commerce in 2024 in the Muralism category and has completed research-creation residencies, including Memorial of Affections at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ecatepec, Mexico, and National History Under Suspicion at Platohedro, Medellín. Her work explores individual and collective memory through photographic archives, experimenting with the materiality of the image and its transformation across various mediums. Her goal is to highlight the fragility of memory in relation to the archive and its deterioration over time. Currently, she is investigating the relationship between the intimate and the public, intervening in urban spaces through prints in various formats.
