Irina Chernikova
France
A self-taught visual artist whose practice spans photography, filmmaking, animation, and 3D video, exploring the tension between calculation and randomness. Her work is driven by ongoing experimentation and an interest in the coexistence of controlled structures and spontaneous processes. She combines traditional techniques and physical materials such as paper, film, and chemical processes with digital environments and computer-generated worlds. Through this dialogue between analogue and digital practices, her work deconstructs reality and reshapes it into new visual forms, where error, surprise, and transformation play an active role. Her practice proposes a hybrid territory in which the image is continuously redefined between the material and the virtual, questioning the boundaries of the medium and the possibilities of contemporary image-making.
