Maria Solaguren-Beascoa Negre
Spain
Visual artist and photographer trained in nature photography at the University of Barcelona and Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London). Her practice focuses on exploring landscape, wildlife, and everyday gestures through a sensitive approach that reflects on the relationship between art and nature. She works with traditional photographic techniques such as cyanotype and large format, which give her images a strong, material, tactile, and memory-driven quality. Sustainability is a key pillar of her work, using natural pigments derived from plant dyes and roots to develop trichromatic processes that directly engage with the rhythms and materials of the natural environment. Through her artworks, exhibitions, and workshops, she seeks to raise ecological awareness and to affirm experimental photography as a tool for reconnecting with territory and the living systems that inhabit it.
