Brenna Hansen

Brenna Hansen is a photographic visual artist and arts educator from Southern California, currently living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. Their work focuses on perception, misinformation, and the way contemporary society organizes information and experience. They use a combination of digital and analog photography processes to explore the epistemological significance of the medium, to visually and experientially represent the propagandized narratives researched in their work, and to examine the spaces between perception and reality. Hansen studied Studio Art at Orange Coast Community College, Art Photography at California State University Long Beach, and holds an Interdisciplinary BA in Art History & Philosophy from Arizona State University. Their work has been exhibited internationally in the United States, Colombia, and Chile. In addition to their artistic practice, Hansen is an educator in darkroom & alternative photography processes, book-making, professional practices for emerging artists, and more.
