Duration

About the workshop

In this workshop we will explore different ways to use chemicals to alter images in Polaroid. We will experiment with hydrogen peroxide, ink, glycerin and dyes to deform the emulsion to create new landscapes with old images. We will explore chemical immersion for a completely abstract result and use syringes for more directed results.

I shoot almost exclusively with Polaroid cameras and film. I'm interested in pushing the boundaries of film, through all the ways it can be beautiful. A few years ago, I started soaking exhibits in different chemical baths and now find myself experimenting with different sodas like Coca-Cola, which have produced impressive results so far. The SX-70 is my favorite camera and I'm working on a series of long night exposures. My latest project is to soak and then let the 600 films dry before using them.
