Brenna Hansen is a photographic visual artist and educator from Southern California, currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their work explores perception, misinformation, and how society organizes information. Using both digital and analog processes, Hansen delves into the epistemological significance of photography to represent propagandized narratives and examine the gap between perception and reality. Hansen studied Studio Art, Art Photography, and holds an interdisciplinary degree in Art History & Philosophy. Their work has been exhibited internationally in the US, Colombia, Chile, and Spain. They have also contributed to the establishment of community darkrooms, including the Eugene Darkroom Group and the East Bay Photo Collective. Hansen now serves as the Darkroom Manager at East Bay Photo Collective.
