Javier Talavera

Javier Talavera, born in 1988 in Madrid, holds a master's degree in contemporary photography and is a telecommunications engineer, a combination that has shaped his artistic practice and methodology. Focused on the relationship between our body and its representation, his work revisits the portrait genre through multiple and non-fixed approaches to what we are, exploring principles of representation that lean towards the anonymous. His projects engage in dialogue with the fragility and impermanence of both life and the materiality of images, creating tensions between seemingly opposing forces: the figurative and the abstract, the living and the dead.
