Séverine Chauveau

Workshops, Conferences, and Exhibitions

Born in Angers, France, in the Loire Valley, Séverine is inspired by time, memory, and forgetfulness, themes she explores through photography and its materiality. Her work focuses on creating photographic objects that refer to her childhood and family memories, using materials such as clay, photographic emulsion, resin, and fabrics inherited from the women in her family. Her photo-objects, which can be abstract or derived from found images, are made in a small, intimate format. A self-taught photographer, she has deepened her practice through collective and individual mentorships. She is currently presenting her work at the University of La Réunion and participated in exhibitions in Barcelona in 2023. She lives in Réunion Island (France), in the Indian Ocean.
