Annette Parra
Venezuela
A visual artist and photographer whose practice explores memory, identity, and transformation through experimental and analogue photographic processes. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and two master’s degrees in Film Studies and Film Heritage, an academic background that directly informs her interest in image preservation and visual storytelling. Her images carry an intimate, dreamlike quality, combining tactile gestures with a cinematic sensibility and moving between photography, painting, and moving image. Her methodology prioritizes spontaneity and intuition, embracing accidents and imperfections as part of the creative process. An ongoing interest in experimental cinema extends her research into moving images, questioning how memory and emotion can be visually translated. Her work has been presented in international group exhibitions and artist residencies, including the EXP–IEFC Residency in Barcelona, and she also works as a photo reporter and facilitator of analogue intervention workshops.
