A photographic artist whose practice investigates photography as a chemical and physical medium through cameraless experimental processes. Her work addresses societal struggles, awe and wonder, challenges in communication, the tension between digital and physical encounters, and the importance of mistakes as part of the creative process, producing prints, wall installations, and sculptural works. She holds a BFA from Tulane University and an MFA from the University of Georgia. Her work has been exhibited at galleries and museums across the United States and internationally at festivals and institutions in Thailand, Spain, Italy, Hungary, and South Korea, and has been featured in specialized publications and in Christina Z. Anderson’s book The Experimental Darkroom. She is the founder and former director of The Asheville Darkroom and has taught workshops at Penland School of Craft, the Penumbra Foundation, the Experimental Photo Festival, and conferences of the Society for Photographic Education. She is currently establishing The Experimental Photo Kitchen, an experimental darkroom teaching facility in southern Indiana.
