Cara Coombe

A visual artist and photographer whose practice is situated within an autobiographical framework, exploring themes of gender, sexuality, mental health, and personal, family, and socio-cultural identities. She holds undergraduate and honours degrees in photography and develops a practice that combines artistic research with critical reflection grounded in lived experience. Her work has been exhibited throughout Australia and internationally, with group exhibitions in cities such as Paris and New York. In 2022, she completed a research residency with L’AiR Arts in Paris, further developing her conceptual and methodological approach. She is currently a master’s candidate, consolidating a practice that brings together image-making, memory, and narrative as tools for examining contemporary identity.
