Carola Etche

Visual artist trained in Photography and Film at Universidad del Cine (Buenos Aires, 1984), based in Madrid, whose practice encompasses performance, experimental photography and mixed media. Her work focuses on image transfer through chemical and non-chemical processes, exploring a wide range of materials and supports. Her practice approaches art as a refuge and as a space for play, exploration and personal honesty, driven by a constant search to reconnect with bodily sensations in the face of existential emptiness. In recent years, her own body has become the central axis of her research, exposed in intimate performative actions where the camera is the sole witness. Through experimental photographic techniques and performative processes, she investigates the relationship between mind, body and time, using artistic practice as a vehicle for emotional transformation, healing and questioning the meaning of existence.
