Christina Z. Anderson

Her work focuses on the contemporary reinterpretation of vanitas through a wide range of alternative photographic processes, including gum and casein bichromate, cyanotype, salted paper, vandyke brown, argyrotype, chrysotype, palladium, chemigrams, chromo, mordançage, lumen prints, and combinations thereof. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in over 130 exhibitions and featured in more than 90 publications. She has six books in print, distributed in over 40 countries, including The Experimental Darkroom, Digital Negatives with QuadToneRIP, Demystifying QTR for Photographers and Printmakers (co-authored with Ron Reeder), Cyanotype, The Blueprint in Contemporary Practice (also available in a French edition), Salted Paper Printing, and Gum Printing and Other Amazing Contact Printing Processes. She is editor of the Contemporary Practices in Alternative Process Photography series for Focal Press Routledge, and Professor of Photography at Montana State University.
