Diego Haristoy
Chile
A visual artist, photographer, and researcher whose practice has developed from an early experimentation with light and analogue photography. Trained in design with a specialization in visual communication, his work is marked by the investigation of photochemical processes and alternative techniques such as gum bichromate, toning, chemigrams, and pyrographs. His practice combines professional experience in advertising photography with a critical reflection on photographic language informed by contemporary theoretical thought. He maintains a long standing university teaching practice, leading workshops in design, photography, and final projects, as well as managing a photographic laboratory and studio dedicated to research into alternative and sustainable development processes. His academic and artistic work is oriented toward expanding analogue photographic languages and contributing to practices aligned with sustainability and social responsibility.
