Erik Johansson

A visual artist and surrealist photographer whose practice focuses on creating images that merge reality and fiction through the meticulous construction of impossible yet believable scenes. Rather than capturing moments, his work develops ideas that explore perception, nature, and the human relationship with the world. His images are defined by technical precision, visual humour, and a quiet sense of wonder, achieved by combining multiple real photographs without relying on computer-generated imagery. After training in computer engineering and graphics, he began a professional career balancing personal projects and commercial collaborations, gaining broad international recognition. His work has been exhibited worldwide, published in books, and presented in public art installations. In 2025, he opens his own art centre and creative space in a rural setting, dedicated to inspiring imagination and creative exchange, from where he continues to push the boundaries of surreal photography.
