Gal Wachs

A visual artist based in Spain whose practice unfolds through photochemical processes, material experimentation, and an ongoing investigation of the image as a plastic object. He is the founder of La Revelona, an independent laboratory where photography intersects with domestic alchemy and creative experimentation, treating the image as matter that can be bent, scratched, burned, or altered to activate other forms of memory. Largely self-taught, with studies in cinema, photography, and cinematography, his work moves between digital and mechanical interventions, natural and chemical processes, exploring fragility, erasure, and persistence. He actively collaborates with the Experimental Photo Festival through the production of workshops and experimental actions, developing a practice that understands error as method and art as a continuous process of testing and discovery.
