Isabelle Gagne

Canada

A multimedia artist whose practice explores collective memory, archives, and traces inscribed in the landscape through image, video, and digital technologies. Her work blends documentary investigation with poetic inquiry and has been presented in Canada and internationally at institutions such as Momenta, the National Assembly of Quebec, and the Rencontres internationales de la photographie en Gaspésie, among other cultural venues. In 2024, she received the CALQ Artist of the Year Award and has been a multiple recipient of grants from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, as well as participating in numerous artist residencies and specialised publications. Her works are held in public and private collections and are also activated in public spaces. Recent projects include CYMX (2022), Habiter le vent (2024), and À hauteur d’X (2025). A pioneer of mobile art, she is a cofounder of the Mouvement Art Mobile and the Bleu Diode collective, and has developed a significant curatorial and theoretical contribution to these practices.
