Emily Swift

Emily Swift is a darkroom artist based in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She began exploring the intricacies of the darkroom at the age of 14, during her freshman year of high school and has been captivated by the medium ever since. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Photography from Western Connecticut State University. In her studio practice, Emily blends experimental darkroom techniques with studio photography, using exclusively film and manual printing processes, without resorting to digital manipulation. In addition to her artistic work, Emily is the owner of Darkslide Film Lab, a lab specializing in the development and scanning of photographic film, as well as traditional silver gelatin printing.
