Flora Fanzutti

The artist Flora Fanzutti questions the boundaries of the photographic medium and seeks to establish connections between surface and depth. Delving beneath the surface, she tests the limitations of images to reveal the inherent porosity of the frame. Viewing photography as a dynamic, subjective material, she believes it allows for dialogue. This transformed relationship with photography is manifested through manual and physical interventions on the support, embracing accidents and chance to guide the artistic process. By working directly on photosensitive materials, Flora plays with the concept of loss to uncover new realms. She operates from Lyon, France, where she has established her laboratory in an old gatekeeper's house in the heart of the city.
