Henri Blommers

Henri Blommers is an experimental image maker from Amsterdam, blending digital and analog techniques with collage and stitching. He incorporates botanical or chemical ingredients into his film development process according to the project's theme. His camera-less images are digitized and manipulated at each stage to achieve a unique visual expression. Exploring contemporary themes like the environment and human condition, he addresses biodiversity and digitization. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, notably in awards like the Lensculture Art Awards and the Denis Roussel Award. Transitioning to photography after a career in IT, he co-founded Hello Gorgeous magazine to combat HIV stigma and is a member of BISH Collective. During the pandemic, he created @gardenofhenri on his allotment while between homes.
