Your teacher

Heather Palecek

I took a darkroom photography class in high school and my life changed forever. I don't remember a time when I didn't have a camera in my hand. However, these days my cameras are a little unconventional, as I am obsessed with pinhole photography. I create works of art in collaboration with Mother Nature. My concepts revolve around relationships; between humans and nature, humans between them and our relationship with ourselves. My favorite media and processes are those based on light and chemistry: pinhole photography, cyanotypes, alternative processes, mixed techniques. I am currently exploring ways I can create artwork with Mother Nature and in the soil above her.
